Commitment and What It Really Means In Management by Mathieu Jones

Mathieu JonesFirst and foremost, Happy New Year! 2015 is poised to bring great things for many of us, and to be a great year for those who are fortunate to be surrounded by positive, uplifting people. As I prepared to write this newsletter, I faced a couple of very big decisions. I was really torn between some opportunities. Some moments were considered highs and others lows, but it came to a breaking point when I realized how fortunate I have been. Five and a half years ago I made the decision to move to a management role leaving my position as a financial advisor. I chose to join management for two reasons. The first was the opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself, and the second was based on the vision of the leader of the financial centre I had joined and what they said they noticed in me.

The basis of this article is going to be impact. When most of us think about impact, we think about the tangible, visible, number-based impact we are all so focused on.
